Re: Sprints 2025 - timetable and projects selected
Microsoft are threatening to close the door on the TPM workaround and equally annoyingly close the door on a Windows install without logging into a Microsoft account. I've wondered if Microsoft will eventually dump Windows and go over to linux, they have put a lot of effort into WSL and WSL2 which w...

Re: Sprints 2025 - timetable and projects selected
Boinc policy appears to be go going the other way, using virtual machines on Windows running Linux through WSL. At least one project has been issuing tasks for that setup - I can't remember which project but I had a few tasks shortly after I configured Windows, I don't appear to have any now.

Re: Gerasim site failure
I can't get into website and boinc can't find it either. From the stats boards the historic data has been re-added in at least two steps but mine hasn't so far. I'd hold off any cancellation until we know they have finished doing whatever they can, I'm not on discourse so don't know if there is any ...

Re: Sprints 2025 - timetable and projects selected
Gerasim did its best but I think we killed it (just) before the end of the sprint : website not reachable, impossible to upload results, FB sprint stat page stuck at 13:45 UTC... :) Mmm apparently it will be for a long time, says the admin . It went down overnight (2200 to 0300?) but it looks like ...

Yep, server out of work.
Really annoying with projects that have buddy validation because that encourages competitors to over-cache right at the beginning which leads to loads of tasks not getting validated throughout the competition.

Re: Sprints 2025 - timetable and projects selected
The first time I saw it, Cruncher Pete had a load of entries at the bottom of the table, later on it changed to positions at the top of the table.

Re: The Invisble 10th
Why do some projects not have the 1 point for 10th place but others do eg User - L2 -Sidock doesn't but User - L2 - SrBase does. There are multiple other cases. Hiya I think I've solved the issue that you raised. The former FB Team member "entity" had asked to be excluded from this years ...

Re: New Team and Member Registrations for 2025
You can change my team affiliation from "Free-DC" back to "Ars Technica". I went to FDC for a day to try to help make it easier for existing project leads take control of their projects, but I'm permanently back to Ars Technica. I'm pretty sure you change team on each project, w...
