Hi all
If you've been trying to access the forum (or the FB website) since Sunday 3rd Sept, you may not have been able to view either, due to some technical issues affecting both this website as well as the WU-Prop project and the L'AF team websites.
This appears to be due to problems that the hosting provider is having with their electrical system...as not only was this website inaccessible for about 14 hours on Sunday, but it also went offline again last night at about 10pm UTC and only came back online around 5am UTC this morning.
So, apologies for any inconvenience, but clearly, these outages are outside the control of anyone here. We just have to be patient that the service provider repairs the fault(s) quickly so we can be back online ASAP.
regards
Tim

Re: Forum and website issues
Hi all
Some may have noticed an issue yesterday as both this forum and the main FB website were having some technical issues and neither were accessible.
I emailed Sebastien last night once I saw the problem and by this morning it was fixed.
I doubt this would have any effect on this weekends Sprint, as the stats are compiled hourly, so if some stats were not collected yesterday, then todays data collection scripts would soon update the daily and total credits shown on the website.
regards
Tim

Thanks for the report.
The admin team at NFS@home were made fully aware (and well in advance) that their project had been chosen and they knew that there would be a much higher than average requirement for tasks/work units, to satisfy FB Teams and Members.
I will send my contact at NFS an email and see if they can rectify whatever the problem is and hopefully, the Sprint can continue.
But as neither Sebastien nor I have any control over any BOINC project chosen for a Sprint, there is little we can do to remedy the situation.
So, just be patient and hopefully normal service will resume soon.
PS: As at 21:13 BST (20:13 UTC), the NFS website *is*accessible and working...so maybe it was just a glitch, or just high demand so that FB members can fill their bunkers?
PPS: Server status is looking good:
https://escatter11.fullerton.edu/nfs/server_status.php
But available tasks is a bit on the low side:
Tasks ready to send 13405
Tasks in progress 274618
Workunits waiting for validation 6
Workunits waiting for assimilation 60

The NFS admin has just emailed me back with the following:
So, they know about this issue you reported and action has been takenIt was a temporary slowdown that was resolved a couple hours ago. All should be good now.
