New Team and Member Registrations for 2025

You can change my team affiliation from "Free-DC" back to "Ars Technica". I went to FDC for a day to try to help make it easier for existing project leads take control of their projects, but I'm permanently back to Ars Technica.

Thanks for the update. I've edited the listing accordingly.

FYI: As far as individual stats go, it doesn't matter which team you have joined as Member stats are independent of team membership.

But for Team stats, every individual team members BOINC credits will all count towards the total tabulated by the FB League tables.

As with last year, ANY NEW Team or Member registrations (approved since the start of 2025) will be accepted into League 4 and at the approximate half-way stage, some Teams and Members may be promoted (or relegated) depending on their achievements as from 1st January 2025.

Hi all

There are now just 2 more Sprints to go, after which we will have a round of Promotions and Relegations for both Teams and Members, and then there will be a re-calculation of FB points earned in the Marathon and hence Teams and Members may gain or lose FB points based on their newly revised League position.

However, FB points earned in each Sprint are retained and your efforts in the various Sprints will NOT be affected however your "Combined Marathon and Sprints" FB points total *might* change.

FYI: The criteria used for Promotions and Relegations will be based on a combination from 2 specific factors:
1) the number of actual Sprints that each Team or Member has actually taken part in so far
2) the total number of BOINC credits earned during the FIRST 12 Sprints

So, if you or your Team has NOT taken part in many Sprints so far, it might be a good idea to ensure you take part in Sprint #11 and/or Sprint #12 to help boost your "score" when it comes to whether you will retain your current League placing.

This should then leave us with THREE Leagues of pro-active Teams and Members (of a range of "fire power") and ONE League of less actives who do not seem to be that interested in supporting any of the projects selected for Sprints....although of course they may be very active on their own choice of Marathon project(s).

Sprint #12 - 2025-07-03 16:00 UTC - 2025-07-06 16:00 UTC

after which the Promotions and Relegations will take place and then the revised League tables will be updated before the next Sprint which is:

Hi all

The Team and Member stats have now been compiled and the promotions and relegations will be announced soon.

I have established the criteria used and for each Team and Member a calculation has been made of the total support and contributions made across the first 12 Sprints and where there has been a very positive involvement in the Sprints, then this gives a higher "ranking" to their League standing.

While those who did not involve themselves in the majority of the Sprints have received a lower ranking, even if they generated lots of credits on only one or two Sprints.

I hope to publish the full list of changes by the end of this week.

Please note: FB points earned BEFORE the changes are retained. But Marathon points will be recalculated based on actual BOINC credits earned since 1st January 2025 (or later if Team registered later) and when compared to other Teams in the SAME League AFTER that changes.

So, congrats to the promoted members and commiserations to those relegated - maybe try harder in the next 6 months so you might be promoted back again?

Explanatory Note:
There are some visible differences in the Members League totals BEFORE and AFTER as some Members are "registered" (and hence I can view them on the FB Management screen) BUT, some of these Members are inactive on my statistics spreadsheet.

Hence some Members have been demoted due to a relative lack of activity (and hence are not visible on the website as they have earned very few BOINC credits and hence NO FB points) but they are visible on my stats.

This is why there does not appear to be a direct correlation in terms of movements.

And please note that the Team and Members League tables were based on the relative performance levels based on the 2024 stats. If Teams and/or Members are now less active then this has facilitated their demotion to lower Leagues. And likewise, an increased level of participation has helped promote some Teams/Members into higher leagues.
