WCG isn't going to fix anything, history is my witness. The one person (tigerlilly) that sporadically replied on the message boards has left the project. Now nobody responds. They tried to re-launch ARP1 months ago and that failed. Supposedly just waiting on storage to be connected. Once again that was months ago. Barely a viable project.
Tim, please remove me (entity) from the FB database as I no longer plan to participate in ANY FB activity going forward.

Thanks for the message and feedback.
It seems that the project is just hanging on, by it's fingernails to remain "viable" Seems a shame as it had always been administered "properly" when it was running under the previous "sponsors".
That's OK - but with respect, I'll do this at the year end, when all the various inactives are removed. I'll also mark your forum account as "inactive".
regards and thanks for all your contributions.

Re: Sprints 2024 - timetable and projects selected
Hi all,
sorry to hear about lots of issues with WCG. Sadly it's appeared to be regular since the exodus of IBM.
But I will be still happy to have this one in the projecs list, otherwise we would be crunching only number fileds, number sieve, number numbers and so on. Math is really boring when there's nothing else except of it
These very long validation times makes this project less suitable for a sprint - that's an issue. And a part of the game though. Let's keep on playing, ok?

I don't want to add to the controversy - it's only a game after all - but I do also see a discrepancy between the BOINC.BE website stats (over 200k points / day) with the points in the league stats (only 55k for the WCG sprint).UBT - Timbo wrote: ↑Fri Oct 25, 2024 1:00 pm 1:11pm update/EDIT:
I've been keeping an eye on the Leagues tables (since I posted the above) and as of 1pm, they *did* increment and team and member stats are being collected without issue.
Does anyone know the URL by which to download the stats export from WCG directly? Can't seem to find that on their website.

I don't know where FB gets it's stats from (as it is hard-coded into the FB back office coding).[BAT] Svennemans wrote: ↑Sat Oct 26, 2024 2:34 pm I don't want to add to the controversy - it's only a game after all - but I do also see a discrepancy between the BOINC.BE website stats (over 200k points / day) with the points in the league stats (only 55k for the WCG sprint).

But looking on the BOINC.BE Team page on WCG here:
https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/team ... MFN98JHPP1
It does seem to show that about 200k of WCG POINTS are earned per day.
But that is NOT the same as BOINC CREDITS and FB uses BOINC CREDITS on all projects. And I cannot remember what the conversion factor is
it might be around 5 or 6 WCG POINTS = 1 BOINC CREDIT
NB: Look at BOINCstats, which shows the following BOINC CREDITS as being earned by BOINC.BE on the WCG project recently.
https://www.boincstats.com/stats/15/tea ... 3/lastDays
So, around 30,000 to 35,000 BOINC CREDITS per day seems to be the current level (which is about 200k WCG POINTS).
regards

Re: Sprints 2024 - timetable and projects selected
Regarding the device management functionality on WCG (which was never great even when it was IBM) we have members at l'AF that complain that it's doing crap. So I can easily understand how frustrating this can be when you (try to) manage a number of host through it...
On the other hand there is only one living sub-project left, so apart from "attach or not attach" I'm not sure what you might want to do with that ?
But it's clear that the departure of IBM and the transfer to that research institute has virtually put a stop to WCG
I hope MCM still survives long enough !

Looks like WCG has gone down at 1641 UTC?
It will be a shame if that is endex, some people are in very close competition
EDIT: And back up again by 1800 UTC
