Now it works (after about 2,5 hours) to get WUs again.

Hi

Higher than average demand for tasks (due to a Sprint) can sometimes mean it takes a little while for new tasks to become available.

This is why I try to contact project admins in advance to ensure that tasks are not affected by any maintenance or server issues.

You just have to be patient and give it some time for the project to replenish the download buffer !

All my computers are giving computation errors. Abandoning the sprint.

Well, it's too late to start troubleshooting this particular sprint but you may want to be prepared for the next one. Please, share your issue within a project message board. There should be something common in it.

My 20+ machines had no such errors. Only the memory usage is on the edge of a limit, when 4 cores are possessing only 8 GB of RAM.

The Asteroid Server is too small, got problems with Wu Download and all Uploads are in pending state.
So not much WU's to crunch and no chance to get enough Wu's for running task because download stucks in pending.

I think Asteroids is not a good choice for a Sprint, the Server can not handle the crunching Power.

Yes, the server is already overloaded, and I have not gotten enough WUs to keep all cores and GPUs busy

I would expect that the Admin keeps an eye on his server but so far there has been no reaction

Hi both

Thanks for the comments.

I have checked the current status which shows:
Tasks ready to send 1301468
Tasks in progress 345073
Workunits waiting for validation 11
Workunits waiting for assimilation 3
Workunits waiting for file deletion 22
Tasks waiting for file deletion 69
Transitioner backlog (hours) 0.00

Task data as of 10 Apr 2025, 18:11:43 UTC
https://asteroidsathome.net/boinc/server_status.php

So, there should be tasks available, if you are patient, unless some person(s) are pre-loading bunkers, which is their choice, but it will mean the server slows down for a time until the need for tasks subsides.

It is not a perfect world and there is no such thing as a perfect BOINC project, so please give it a chance and I am sure that it will settle down. But if this persists, then this might mean it is not in the pool of projects from which future Sprint projects can be chosen.

regards
Tim
